Ken Spiegel
Mr. Spiegel is a 25 year veteran technologist and entrepreneur. Since the beginning of the PC revolution he has been pushing the envelope to develop and bring to market software solutions that solve real world problems. His desire to bring the technology of language to bear on improving the way we educate and the way we do business is the basis for his founding LanguaMetrics. He earned his Bachelor of Science from the United States Coast Guard Academy and a Masters of International Relations from the State University of New York at Albany. Previously he was a Business Group Manager at Covansys-CSC, the Chief Operating Officer and the Chief Technology Officer at Electronic Learning Products.
Sergii Kuchma
Sergii brings more than 30 years experience in the science of audio, video and electronic signals to LanguaMetrics. He graduated from the prestigious Kiev Air Force Institute and as an officer in the Soviet Air Force worked in the research and development of various Soviet aircraft communications systems, achieving the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Sergiy has a PhD in Radio Engineering from the Kiev Air Force Institute as a professor and has taught advanced courses in telecommunications systems and digital signal processing to cadets. He is a co-founder of Vimas Technologies.
Igor Guryanov
Mr. Guryanov brings more than 20 years’ experience in building solutions in radio communications, audio and video signals processing. After graduating the Kiev Air Force Institute as a radio engineer, he served as a Soviet Air Force officer achieving the rank of captain. While working at the Air Force Research center in Moscow and Kiev he was involved in research projects for both the MIG-29 and Sukhoi-27, the equivalent of the U.S. AWACS. In 1993 he co-founded VIMAS technologies, a Kiev based firm focused on audio, image and video signal processing solutions.
Dr. Susan Homan
Dr. Homan is our Chief Academic Officer and is Professor Emerita at the University of South Florida. Her career has centered on adolescent struggling readers, diagnosis and emergent literacy. Throughout her career she has co-authored many books and published more than 30 articles in the field of literacy education. Her book, co-authored with Dr. Arleen Mariotti, Linking Reading Assessment and Instruction is in its 5th edition and was published in 2009.
Samantha Van Liew
Sam brings 20+ years of management and leadership experience and 10 years as a Special Education Teacher to her work in education. A U.S. Army veteran (2003–2005) and holder of an Education Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, she is committed to diversity, inclusion, and transformative educational strategies. Sam has a proven track record of empowering educators and driving student success through innovative curriculum design and instructional leadership.
John Previte
With over 30 years of Call Center Management experience, John has shaped the foundation of LanguaTest training, quality, and onboarding processes, and led remote analyst teams. As Director of LanguaTest Training and Support, he oversees testing operations for 20+ offshore BPO call centers. As Project Manager for the RevLearning Suite, he guided the creation of hundreds of online books, including designing Phoebe the Phonics Phoenix, the Decodables “superhero” cover, and authoring over 200 books—such as 87 Decodable titles, the Grayson and the Guardians series, and the ReadMore Castle stories. He now leads as Director of Global Support for all LanguaMetrics education and contact center initiatives.
