In TutorRev, children earn stars on each page for their oral reading accuracy, driving repeated reading and fluency gains. As they progress through a book, they accumulate stars and answer comprehension questions. Upon completing the book, the system tallies the stars and comprehension performance, awarding between five and ten coins to the child. These coins become a foundational metric for tutors to create personalized rewards that motivate individual students. In consultation with parents, tutors can leverage these coins to craft meaningful incentives. Our system elegantly simplifies the quantification of key reading improvement actions into a single measure: the number of coins.
